My Journey

My spiritual journey began when my health came to a crashing halt. I became profoundly ill and spent much of a year confined to bed. What followed was, in many ways, an initiation into the healer’s path.

After countless doctors’ visits, laboratory tests, and unanswered questions, I was diagnosed with chronic Lyme disease and eight co-infections, along with leaky gut, gut dysbiosis, adrenal fatigue, and celiac disease. With the support of compassionate medical professionals, Divine guidance, and my own growing inner wisdom, I began the long process of learning how to participate in my own healing.

While my body was recovering, something deeper was awakening within me. My connection to the unseen world grew stronger, and I began opening to my spiritual gifts as an intuitive healer, communicator, and bridge between the seen and unseen realms.

This awakening asked me to release many false beliefs, meet the hidden parts of myself with honesty, and move through profound layers of shadow work. It was not an easy road, but it became a sacred one. Through it, I developed a deep and enduring relationship with the Divine—and, perhaps most importantly, with myself.

I learned to love myself fully for the first time in my life. I learned to trust my inner knowing, honor the guidance I receive, and recognize that even our most difficult passages can carry medicine for the path ahead.

Today, that lived experience is woven into the heart of Riverside Spirit Sanctuary.

I believe that when someone feels an unexpected pull, curiosity, or quiet nudge to work with me, there is often a deeper wisdom beneath it. Our higher selves and benevolent unseen allies can sometimes recognize what we need before our conscious minds understand it. Spirit sees the path from a wider perspective and gently guides us toward the people, experiences, and medicine that can help us take our next step.

I do not see myself as the destination. I am a steppingstone, a bridge, and a sacred guide for a portion of the journey—helping others reconnect with their own wisdom, develop trust in their spiritual gifts, deepen their relationship with their unseen support, and remember more fully of who they are.

A Lifetime of Guiding

Long before this spiritual awakening reshaped my life, I was already a guide, educator, writer, and devoted steward of the natural world.

For many years, I worked as a professional fly-fishing guide and fly tier, teaching classes and guiding anglers in pursuit of many different species. I contributed articles and photography to several fly-fishing publications and became part of a growing movement to help women claim an equal and respected place within the sport. Through clinics, mentorship, and leadership, I encouraged other women to trust their abilities and find their own confidence on the water. At the time, I was also one of the few women guiding anglers for musky on the fly.

Fly fishing was—and remains—a deep passion of mine. Yet as my spiritual awakening unfolded, something unexpectedly changed. I would bring a fish close, pause to admire it, and suddenly wonder why I was doing it. The experience no longer stirred me in the way it once had. My soul food had shifted.

My mind, heart, and spirit were no longer moving in the same direction. It was an unsettling and deeply confusing transition—one that took me years to understand. Eventually, I realized that my desire to guide had never left me. It was simply taking a new form.

In truth, the work I do today is not so different from guiding someone on the water. As a spiritual guide, I help individuals learn to read the currents of their own lives, connect with their higher power, trust their inner wisdom, and develop relationships with the benevolent beings who are here to support them.

You might say I am still helping people catch big fish—only now, we are catching Big Spirit Fish.

Before entering the world of fly fishing, I spent nearly 20 years working as a horticulturist with an award-winning landscaping firm. A large part of this work was teaching and guiding homeowners how to care for their own environment. I wrote a gardening column for a weekly newspaper, contributed to a glossy magazine, and participated in a five-year USDA grant study focused on understanding fresh-food deserts. Through that work, I helped develop educational outreach that guided individuals how to grow their own food.

Looking back, I can see the common thread running through every chapter of my life: nature, education, stewardship, and guiding others toward a deeper sense of connection and possibility.

I have been a steward of the natural world for as long as I can remember. As a child, I was almost always outside and rarely wanted to be indoors. The land, plants, animals, and waters were among my earliest companions and teachers.

The Spirit-led path I walk today has asked me to deepen those relationships even further. I have come to understand that Spirit lives within everything and that the beings of the natural world are sentient presences with whom we can develop meaningful, reciprocal relationships. It is a privilege to encounter nature in this way—to listen, learn, collaborate, and serve.

I feel profoundly honored that these loving spirits have chosen to work with me in service to others and to the greater good.

Through my relationships with the Angels, Allies, and Ancestors, I continue to learn, heal, and grow. As those relationships deepen, I am better able to help others recognize their own unseen support and cultivate beautiful, loving, and trustworthy relationships with their spiritual teams.

Every part of my journey—the gardens, the rivers, the fish, the illness, the awakening, and the unseen world—has led me here.

And I am so deeply grateful to be here now. 💓
